Give It Away Now...

In August, 2005, I lost, by way of theft, all my performance equipment, minus my Taylor guitar (thank God) to the tune of $11,000. Many hundreds of hours of blood, sweat and tears went into the assembly of that rig, and I lost a lot more than money when it was stolen. And because I didn't read the VERY tiny print in my State Farm renter's insurance policy, I found out after paying for insurance for years and years that professional music equipment ISN'T covered. At ALL. Sucks to be me, right? (Dumb-ass...)

Since then, I've given a lot of thought to what I'm really trying to do in this business. After singing my song "Born Into Money" enough times to finally hear what I was saying, I decided that it didn't make any sense to charge people just for hearing my music... So from here out, the music is FREE. Which means you can download all music made by either me or my band, Right Rongly, without being charged. The only thing that won't be free is a hard copy of my debut CD, "Vice Verses", which is still available at www.cdbaby.com/cd/scottish. The reason is that I paid $3500 for the last big batch of those, and I can't afford to give any of them away. But after they're gone (I've only got a few left), you'll be able to download the whole CD (minus album art) online.

I'm closing the online music store on my MySpace page, and as soon as I can get it all hooked up, you'll be able to come to either of our websites and download everything for FREE.

BUT I still have to pay for the websites, the music equipment, the recording equipment, the many 9-volt batteries, the guitar strings (which are $12 a set, due to my crazy tunings), the blank CDs (for handing out demos at shows), the CD labels, the printer ink for the CD labels, etc., etc., etc.... AND spending half my life doing all the BS that ISN'T music, so that this can all be possible.

SO, in return for all this free stuff, I'm asking for your help.
